First international project presentation - Slovenia

The first international presentation of the Erasmus + project "Traveling Libraries without Borders" and mobility to Spain within the project was in Slovenia, on 13 and 14 May 2022, when the 21st International Meeting and Festival of Slovenian Traveling Libraries - Bibliobus was held in Murska Sobota. Silvija Perić and Ljiljana Vugrinec also took part in the professional part of the conference, along with a dozen other lecturers who spoke about examples of good practice from the work of bibliobuses - mobile libraries in Slovenia, Finland, Serbia and Croatia. The emphasis of their presentation was on the work of libraries and bibliobuses in Catalonia (Spain), where they paid a study visit from April 19 to April 28 2022.

Silvija Perić and Ljiljana Vugrinec, participants in the Mobile Libraries Without Boundaries Project spent ten days, from 19 to 28 April 2022, in Catalonia, the Autonomous Province of Spain - visiting libraries and bibliobuses in Barcelona and Lleida. Thus, they fully implemented the mobility envisaged and planned by the project, after mobility had to be postponed several times in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the mobility, organized by the hosts, the project participants visited 5 libraries in Barcelona, Vic and Lleida and 2 central institutions to support libraries in Barcelona and Lleida, and directly participated in their work with users at the stops. of which 3 in the District of Barcelona and 2 in Lleida. They also visited book fairs and other events "Sant Jordi in Barcelona" on the occasion of the Catalan national holiday, April 23, Book and Rose Day.
At the beginning and end of the project, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of the hosts: immediately upon arrival in Barcelona, a meeting was held with representatives of the host - project partners in the Library Administration of the Ministry of Culture of the Autonomous Province of Catalonia in Barcelona. received by the Delegate of the Government of Catalonia in Lleida.
The planned program of visits and activities was fully realized during the ten days of mobility and a number of interesting and useful information was collected on the organization and operation of Catalan libraries and libraries, which will be transferred to librarians in Croatia and beyond. is also for application in new services and activities with library users in libraries in the area where the Association of Librarians of Bilogora, Podravina and Kalničko prigorje operates.
Visit to the Delegation of Catalonia for South East Europe

Project participants Silvija Perić and Ljiljana Vugrinec attended a meeting in Zagreb with the representative of the Delegation of Catalonia for Southeast Europe Ana Hadžić. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation in the project. Possible future projects and cultural cooperation were also discussed at the meeting.
Project duration extended for another 12 months

Since it was not possible to carry out the mobility in 2021 due to the pandemic, an extension of the project for another 12 months was requested and approved. The project will now last until 14.12.2022. 2022 years.
Umag - 13th National Conference on Public Libraries

Silvija Perić and Ljiljana Vugrinec participated in person at the 13th Hybrid Conference on Public Libraries in the Croatia, held in Umag on October 20-22, 2021, where they presented the first Erasmus + project of the BPKP Librarians' Association. They gave a presentation titled "Erasmus +, an opportunity for international cooperation and support during the pandemic and despite the pandemic".

The conference will be held in Umag, October 20-22, 2021.
Informing the public about the project at the Virovitica Public Library

In Virovitica, at the European Social Fund's press conference "Creating an Inclusive Society through Reading", Silvija Perić spoke about the importance of this project and its goals. The European Social Fund will enable the establishment of a new mobile library service in Virovitica.

At the annual Assembly of the Library Association of Bilogora, Podravina and Kalničko prigorje, held on June 11, 2021. in Đurđevac, Silvija Perić and Ljiljana Vugrinec held a presentation "Mobile Libraries without Boundaries - the first Erasmus + project of the Library Association of Bilogora, Podravina and Kalnik Prigorje" which informed all present members of the Association about the progress of activities in the project and future plans.

At the beginning of June, a two-day virtual round table on mobile libraries and a festival of Croatian bibliobuses, national meetings with international participants, were held. Invited by Croatian partners, for the first time, colleagues from Barcelona, partners in the project "Mobile Libraries without Boundaries", participated in the conference. They presented the work of Catalan mobile libraries during the coronavirus pandemic with an example of a bibliobus service from Barcelona - Bibliobus Tagament. Assumpta Molist and Rosa Poch, both from Barcelona, took part in the conference. At the same conference, as part of the presentation "International Cooperation of Mobile Librarians - Expanding Circles", Ljiljana Vugrinec informed the international community of mobile librarians about the Erasmus + project "Mobile Libraries without Borders" as well as its course, goals and expected results .
Sant Jordi and Book Night in Koprivnica

In April, the first activity for users related to the project "Mobile Libraries without Boundaries" took place in Koprivnica. The event was organized as part of Book Night on April 23, 2021, when the program "Magic (biblio) bus" took place in front of the Koprivnica Public Library. The program gathered about twenty participants on Zrinski Square around the bibliobus (in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions!). In addition to visiting the traveling library - bibliobus, which was open to all interested, the celebration of Book Night was used as an opportunity for the citizens of Koprivnica - visitors to the Koprivnica library on that day - to get acquainted with the feast of St. George (Sant Jordi) which is especially celebrated in Catalonia, an autonomous province in Spain. On this day, which is a national holiday in Catalonia, the Day of Books and Roses is celebrated. It is customary to give a book and a rose as gifts to people you love. As libraries with which librarians from Koprivnica cooperate in the Erasmus + project of the regional Librarians Association "Mobile Libraries without Boundaries" are from Catalonia, specifically the cities of Barcelona and Lleida, this beautiful tradition reached Koprivnica on the occasion of Book Night and all visitors to the Magical (bibliobus) were gifted a rose and a book by a local author of their choice. The librarians took the opportunity to inform visitors about the Erasmus + project "Mobile Libraries without Boundaries" and with the gift each visitor received a small leaflet with basic information about the project.

At the beginning of 2021, in addition to launching the website, the logo and graphic design of the project were designed. Banners were printed, the project poster was created, and promotional materials were made: a ballpoint pen, a writing pad and a canvas bag with the name and logo of the project. In addition to the project participants, volunteers from the Koprivnica and Virovitica libraries, Vlasta Šolc and Marija Vugrinec, were involved in the development of the website and graphic design, as external collaborators on the project. The graphic preparation for the banner and the poster was done by the project participants.

First virtual meeting of partners from Croatia and Spain in Erasmus+ „Mobile Libraries Without Boundaries“ project
Librarians from Croatia and Spain (Catalonia) met for the first time online on February 18, 2021, to get to know each other, exchange basic information about the libraries they come from and to agree on further cooperation in the Erasmus + project of the Mobile Libraries Without Boundaries project. An online meeting took place in a very cordial and friendly atmospher. Along with librarians from Croatia, in this first virtual meeting of partners, participated the representatives of libraries from Barcelona and Lleida and representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Catalonia
In the presentations, the Croatian side presented the goals of the project and plan of project activities. They also presented their regional Library Association as the Project Coordinator as well as the libraries from which the participants in the project come. The partners from Catalonia were especially interested in the part of the presentation about mobile libraries in Croatia, and their professional organization and activities, especially about Mobile Library Festivals that have been organized regularly in Croatia for more than 20 years. The Catalan partners presented the organization of the library system of public libraries in Catalonia and the important role that mobile libraries play in it. Three bibliobuses were presented in particular, between 12 of them from the regions of Lleida and Barcelona, which have well-organized and very modern mobile libraries and were therefore selected for the goal of mobility within the project.
Due to the current situation with the coronavirus pandemic, the planned mobility to Spain / Catalonia has already had to be postponed once, from autumn 2020 to spring 2021. Unfortunately, due to the uncertain situation with the pandemic, as well as with the implementation of vaccinations in both Croatia and Spain, it is still unknown when travel and to other countries will be normalized. Therefore, it was agreed that the mobility will be postponed once again for a few months and according to the current plan should take place in September 2021. In the meantime, virtual meetings between partners will continue, as well as some other Project activities. One of them is this website which has been created for the Project, to ensure visibility and disemination of informations within the Project. (Lj.V., 23.2.2021.)
